A new review of Ibn al-Haytham: First Scientist has appeared on barnesandnoble.com. This is the first commentary—other than Brandon Cesmat's reader’s response at the end of the North County Times article—that zeroes in on the timeliness of the book in light of current affairs. One of my goals with this book is to help Western students appreciate Muslim civilization. I want my readers to understand that Muslim culture is more about ideas than about IEDs.
